Frequently Ask Questions

Registration and Selection

Q. What is the Summer Portal 2026, and who is it for?

The Summer Portal 2026 is an exciting 5.5 days learning experience for students aged 10–14 (Rising P5-F2) who love to explore, create, and take on new challenges across learning about industries, academics beyond standard curricula, and AI; all within a strong values-

based environment.

The programme is for all students – from SPCC/SPCCPS and the wider community.

We are currently setting aside 50% capacity for SPCC/ SPCCPS priority registration.

Q. How are these programmes different from regular school lessons?

Our programmes are transdisciplinary, project-based, and highly interactive. Students work with industry experts on real-world projects, use AI as a powerful learning tool, head out on inspiring field trips, and showcase their own creations or investigations at the end of the

week. End-of-programme reflection will heavily relate to and reference SPCC values.

Q. Do students need prior knowledge of industries, subject matters and AI to attend?

Students are registered on a first-come, first-served basis. No prior knowledge is needed, but we do require a reasonable standard of English to access the curriculum and teaching. Applicants will be pre-screened based on school transcripts and possible 1-on-1 interviews

where we will assess applicants based on their language ability, level of enthusiasm to contribute to class and maturity to engage with peers and industry practitioners.

Q. Will rising P5-F2 students be in the same class?

No. There will be two separate and appropriately levelled programmes for rising P5–P6 and rising F1–F2. At the moment, we only plan to run one class (either level), subject to minimum enrolment.

Q. What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Full programme fee payment is required to secure registration and spot on the programme.

Minimum capacity needs to be met before a programme can be confirmed and full refund would be extended should the class not form. On April 30, we will inform parents of the latest status of class formation. Otherwise, programme fees are non-refundable.

Q. How selective is enrolment, and what if the class is full?

Final students selection will be assessed individually and may be invited for Zoom interviews based on the criteria highlighted in the eligibility section.

If classes are full, we will notify those who are placed on the waitlist.

Programme Delivery

Q. Will students spend the entire time on screens?

The experience is deliberately designed to be screen-balanced. Students switch between on-screen work and rich ocline activities, including discussions, hands-on experiments, field trips, and group presentations, so learning stays active, social, and engaging.

Q. What is the teacher-to-student ratio and staQ experience?

We maintain a supportive 1:10 ratio with qualified educators and industry experts who create a safe, inspiring space for students to thrive and build confidence.

Q. What is the “Optional” innovation lab site visit on the last day in schedule?

Further information will be provided – this is an optional event for students (and possibly parents) to join us on an excursion to visit innovation labs in Hong Kong.

Logistics

Q. Are meals provided, and what about dietary needs?

Yes, nutritious lunches are included daily for Full day programmes. No lunches for half day programmes.

Q. What should students bring each day?

Learning materials, a water bottle, a charged laptop / appropriate device for AI activities. We'll provide a full checklist upon registration to keep things simple and fun.

Q. Are there opportunities for parents to see the results?

Yes! Join our expo on July 25 (last day of programme) where students will showcase their learning and we will all celebrate your child's growth through projects, investigations, and reflection. Parents and participants are welcome to bring family and friends.

Q. Will there be boarding?

Please indicate in the priority registration form if you have interest in boarding. We will confirm in due course and will relay boarding arrangements, if any, then.
